Landschaft(en): Perspektiven in der Architektur
Das Symposium bringt Architekten zusammen, die in ihrem Werk aus einem Verständnis für den Kontext des Territoriums – seiner Topographie, seiner Konstruktion, seiner Geschichte von Besiedlung und Nutzung, und seiner Atmosphäre – denken und arbeiten. Landschaft steht dabei für einen architektonischen Ansatz, der in der Kontinuität der Bearbeitung der Landschaft steht. Die Landschaft ist dabei Vordergrund und Hintergrund, und bietet das Material für architektonische Inszenierungen. Sie ist aber auch Untergrund: der Boden einer Kultur der sorgsamen Pflege und der nachhaltigen Entwicklung der Lebenswelt.

landscape in the metropolitan era
This lecture re-introduces the notion of super-nature into the metropolitan debate: as an intensified and superior version of nature, deeply embedded in history, culture and technology, and bringing together the architectural and the ecological view of the 20th century. The abundance of nature and natural processes determines its own architectural language, not in the first place an artificial—artistic—reflection of nature, but an artificial reflection of nature, which in itself has become as much artificial as natural.
